Raising the Bar for Switchgear Safety
Tested Beyond the Standards
Our SF₆-free gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) uses dry air insulation and has been tested to perform under the toughest conditions. These tests validate both mechanical robustness and electrical safety:
- ✅ Seismic testing: Proven mechanical stability under strong vibration and shock, ensuring reliable operation in earthquake-prone regions.
- ⚡ Internal Arc Classification (IAC) AFLR at 31.5 kA: Certified operator and equipment protection in case of internal faults, with energy safely contained and redirected.
- 💨 Pressure withstand testing: Each unit is tested at 1.3 × maximum operating pressure, as per IEC routine test requirements for dry-air GIS, ensuring long-term tank integrity and leak-free operation.
Built-in Safety for Every Operator
Beyond mechanical and electrical resilience, our switchgear integrates features that reduce human error and make operation safer and easier:
- Standard and custom interlocks prevent unsafe switching sequences.
- Fully motorized disconnector (DS) and vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) enable complete remote operation, limiting the need for personnel to come close to the switchgear, as operation can be done remotely.
- Viewports with optional cameras provide visual confirmation of switch positions, adding another layer of operational assurance.
Smart Safety Through IoT Monitoring
Nuventura’s GIS can be equipped with IoT sensors for temperature, humidity, and tank pressure, providing continuous, real-time monitoring. These insights enable predictive maintenance, helping operators detect potential issues early and improve grid reliability.
A Safer and Cleaner Future
At Nuventura, we see the transition to SF₆-free switchgear as an opportunity to redefine safety standards. Every test, interlock, and sensor is part of our mission to deliver a cleaner, safer, and smarter grid — without compromise.
