All the benefits of GIS
without the downsides of SF6
Nuventura develops gas insulated switchgear (GIS) technologies that help to reduce the energy industry’s use of SF6 - the world's strongest greenhouse gas, which has traditionally been used as an insulating medium in GIS - by replacing it with dry air.
Nu1 is our first technology offering. It is an IEC-approved medium voltage (up to 36 kV), single busbar GIS for primary distribution. It maintains traditional GIS's strengths such as compact physical footprint and reliability, whilst removing the operational and environmental problems posed by SF6. Moreover, it enables further benefits, such as digitization, made possible by the use of dry air as the insulating medium.
Extend your product portfolio
with our next-generation GIS
Our business model helps switchgear manufacturers expand and future-proof their product portfolios with the following collaboration options:
-
Licencing the full dry air GIS design
-
Directly buying GIS core tanks (an important component) for manufacturers to incorporate into their own switchgear designs
Nuventura is recognised by industry professionals
“At my former company RWE we were always looking for future-proof technologies that complement and add value to our business. I was amazed to see that Nuventura's unique approach has solved the global warming threat from SF6 switchgear and added smart grid capability at the same time. They clearly stand out from all other solutions with this.”
