"We are very excited to join forces with Jayme da Costa (JdC) to offer SF6-free products that are customized to meet the local market requirements. Our GIS technology covers the medium voltage range up to 36 kV which is especially suited to growing power requirements in renewable energy installations such as solar and wind projects. This is a market that is expected to grow significantly in the years to come and we look forward to working with Jayme da Costa to deliver complete solutions to customers, based on our demonstrated technology which is available today" says Fabian Lemke, commercial director at Nuventura.

Under the MoU, Nuventura will bring extensive experience with its dry air GIS platform, supplying core technology modules as well as engineering support capabilities. Jayme da Costa will leverage its Portuguese production facility to develop the region’s first completely SF6-free 36kV GIS product which is a customized to meet the local market requirements. Jayme da Costa plans to offer the GIS as a part of its turnkey solutions for its renewable energy production and energy distribution customers.

“This partnership with Nuventura is fully in line with the strategy designed for a future JdC with an extended offer of Indoor MV Switchgear solutions based on green technologies using air as the insulation medium, discarding the use of SF6. JdC, as a key player in renewable energies, will apply intelligent and environmentally friendly technologies as a key concept in future portfolios. The Iberian Peninsula has increased its demand for 36kV networks, and this technology brings many advantages such as it being compact, maintenance-free and insensitive to ambient conditions. It is particularly suitable for renewable energy projects due to their increasing power requirements.” says Fernando Lourenço, CEO at Jayme da Costa.
