Project Engineer (f/m/x) - Electrical engineering LV and MV

Nuventura has developed a new generation of electrical switchgear that is highly innovative and environmentally sustainable, which it now industrializes for scaling globally. For this step, we want to hire an automation expert. The Project Engineer (m / f / d) - Electrical engineering / Automation will work cross-functional with internal and external touchpoints. In this crucial role you will have major impact and responsibility in providing the relay and automation needs for the projects delivered by Nuventura worldwide. 

As part of the role, you will primarily touch base with engineering and Sales to align and coordinate new projects. For this, key success factors will be working across departments to align on the technical needs of the automation in the project and defining the path to achieve it. You will need to identify the potential solution(s) available on the market to be integrated inside Nuventura to meet the technical requirements and high quality standards.

To be successful in this role you need to have good knowledge about electrical engineering, wiring standards, overview of protection and relay concepts. You should give attention to detail and anticipate future necessities. Execution focus is part of your DNA. What will you be responsible for?

  • You will need to understand the customer project's electrical requirements

  • You will be responsible for the  analysis of technical drawings, interpretation of specifications, and determination of the electrical requirements of a given project.

  • You will show proficiency in using AutoCAD, EPLAN P8  or similar software tools for designing electrical plans as well as the part lists.

  • You will be responsible to prepare the preliminary design of the control cabinets electrical infrastructure for specific customer projects and you will keep records of changes and amendment drawings if required.

  • You will be responsible for the design and selection of control cabinet components (e.g., PLC controls, distributors, cable routing, feed) and ensure that procedures and schemes relating to electrical plans are drafted, documented, implemented, and updated.

  • You will be responsible for protection relay basic logic control and configuration by being an interface between the relay suppliers and the customer requirements.

  • You will be key in understanding the customer requirements from power distribution, protection, automation, and monitoring aspects and translate those requirements into technical specifications of the project.

  • You will understand and get training in operating LV and MV electrical testing equipment

  • You will ensure quality assurance on all electrical components and projects and write corresponding reports.

  • You will also support company wide projects on a case-related basis when help is needed. 


What you need to bring into the company?

  • University degree (Bachelor/Master) in the field of automation technology, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or comparable training.

  • At least 3 years of experience in planning and designing electrical distribution systems for control cabinets.

  • Experienced in planning and designing electrical distribution systems for control cabinets, protection relays and secondary circuits design.

  • Knowledge on equipment, testing and commissioning procedures and LV/MV/HV substation equipment (protection relays, transformers, cables, switchgears, industrial motors, SCADA etc.).

  • Ability to provide technical support on complex projects.

  • Management and monitoring skills for the assigned electrical projects.

  • Capable of independent decision making for critical technical issues.

  • Experience in the MV/HV energy sector.

  • High sense of responsibility and teamwork.

  • Ensure health and safety codes are always recognized.

  • A valid driver's license (B).

  • Very good written and spoken German (at least B2) and advanced English skills.

  • Willingness to travel 30% on average per year.
