Design Engineer (f/m/x)

Nuventura is a renowned climate technology company on a mission to revolutionize the energy sector. Our objective is clear: to render SF6, the world's most potent greenhouse gas, obsolete. We have achieved this ambitious goal through innovation, developing cutting-edge electrical switchgear that replaces SF6 with clean, breathable air.

Our business model involves licensing our products to global manufacturers, supplying core components to them, and manufacturing complete products for our domestic markets. We have recently established a new base in East Berlin, combining our office and R&D space as we expand our revolutionary technology globally. As we scale up production to meet growing demand for our already developed products, we are on the lookout for a warehouse operator. If you are a motivated and organized person seeking an exciting role in our warehouse, this opportunity is tailor-made for you.

A snapshot of your day:

As a Design Engineer (f/m/x), you will develop and industrialize new product lines, collaborating in an international team to align with technology and customer needs. You will communicate with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and business developers to shape the future of our products, ensuring they meet technical and commercial criteria. Working in small, dedicated teams, you will bring mechanical engineering expertise to drive impactful innovation in technology development.

You will…

  • Drive new product development design, covering conceptualization, detailed design (3D modelling, drafting, BOM creation, quality test protocols), and creation of design data in the ERP system.

  • Oversee hands-on prototype building, conduct in-house mechanical and electrical functionality testing to meet standards, and execute verification and validation processes.

  • Prepare assembly drawings and work instructions for sub-assemblies and assemblies.

  • Conduct failure mode analysis for newly released design features and document findings.

  • Generate design ideas, particularly in the field of kinematics, and contribute to various aspects of the design process.

  • Create comprehensive technical documentation, including CAD data, design and quality specifications, BOM, and assembly instructions along with cost calculations, supplier selection, and issue management.

  • Translate technical and commercial requirements into design specifications, applying industry standards and manufacturing know-how.

  • Develop mechanical and electrical components, providing designs, documentation, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.

  • Take charge of quality control, testing, and lifecycle management of components and assemblies across facilities, suppliers, and on-site.

  • Guide entire lifecycle, from concept to maintenance, supporting hands-on prototype building.

  • Assist the sales team in realizing customer requirements and adapting solutions to new industry needs.

  • Solve technical challenges and effectively communicate and plan development timelines.

What you need to bring in:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, process engineering, material science or a comparable field.

  • At least 2 years of experience in designing electrical/mechanical equipment or a relevant industry.

  • Familiarity with metal processing, machining, and mechanical manufacturing processes. Knowledge of electrical switching components and pressure vessel design is a plus.

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks, specializing in 3D-modeling and technical drawing creation.

  • Background in prototyping cycles and electromechanical hardware system development.

  • Understanding of industrial standards in electrical industry or experience in interpreting standards, regulatory documentation, and technical patents.

  • Advanced English skills. German is a big plus.

  • Willingness to travel based on project needs.

  • Experience with CFD software like Ansys Mechanical or Fluent for structural and thermodynamic simulation is a bonus.

What we offer:

  • You will be part of an innovative group of high-performance and experienced people from diverse backgrounds.

  • We are committed to your growth and will challenge you directly to become the best professional version of yourself.
